Located by the sea, under the scorching and constant sunlight, the Fond Basile plantation grows sugarcane that is ideal for producing high-quality white rum. In this dry, at times almost desert-like area, the cane concentrates exceptional vegetal aromas, which proper distillation can wonderfully reveal through the art of concentration.

On the Caravelle Peninsula, where the trade winds gently caress the landscape and the dry Spoutourne area is sheltered from tropical downpours, exceptionally fine rums are crafted. The dryness of the region and the influence of the wind create a remarkably concentrated aromatic profile, with floral notes particularly dominant in the cane. These aromas become even more pronounced through proper distillation and aging. This rum stands as a worthy representative of the Martinican agricultural rum tradition.

The aging process has preserved the rum’s fresh, vibrant character. FLEURS DU VENT’s beautiful golden hue suggests a radiant rum, like a breeze carrying aromas and a shower of tropical flower petals through the air. At the tip of the Caravelle Peninsula, overlooking the Baie du Trésor, Pointe Caracoli is one of the most iconic capes of Martinique.

Here, one can witness breathtaking sunrises and sunsets dancing in the radiant hues of the aged Karakoli rum.

The first creation of the INTARSIA collection, the old Karakoli rum, comes from the Spoutourne plantation—one of the driest areas of the estate. Just like in viticulture, the weeks of drought before harvest lead to a remarkable concentration of aromas in the cane.
